Chamber Music Madness at the 1794 Meetinghouse
Violin & Banjo Chris Devine — violin, viola, mandolin, guitar, flute Michael Nix — guitar, mandolin, banjar, banjo Chris and Michael are innovative multi-instrumentalists, composers, and arrangers who combine classical, folk, international, jazz, and bluegrass influences on MANY instruments (see above). Imagine a Bach as a Celtic jig or a tango. Add in banjo compositions based on 17th century transcriptions, ragtime novelty pieces , a bluegrass string-duel, and a fiery jazz violin. It’s a wild musical ride as styles collide and are served up with energy, style, & wit! Cello & Piano Mark Fraser — cello Matthew Duncan — piano Mark is a founding member of the internationally-acclaimed Adaskin String Trio and the director of Mohawk Trail Concerts in Charlemont. Matthew is the director of the 1794 Meetinghouse. They will perform works from the standard repertoire as well as original compositions. Bassoon, Clarinet, & Piano Becky Eldredge — bassoon Ann Cenzano — piano Mary Ellen Miller — clarinet Becky, Mary Ellen, and Ann met when in the 1970’s when they were all students at Lowell State College. Amazingly, they all settled down in Western Mass. Becky is a member of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and formerly a member of the Rhode Island Philharmonic.
