First Friday - Turners Falls Vinyl Crawl

A celebration of 3 record stores within a ¼ mile stretch on Avenue A! Shop, sip, and sing from 4 to 8 p.m. while strolling walkable downtown Turners. Featuring live music, karaoke, and plenty of records to peruse, this is the PERFECT evening for fans of physical media. August 7th Schedule 4:00 p.m. - First Friday events begin Time TBD (Check back for updates!) - Bring Your Vinyl, CDs, Merch to get signed by Lou Barlow of Dinosaur Jr. at Two Ghosts Vinyl Cafe! 5:30 p.m. - Live: All Vinyl DJ Set by E-Mag at Breakdown Records 6:00 p.m. - Karaoke at Music Connection 7:00 p.m. - Live: Dan Becker, contemporary solo pianist, at Music Connection Our Record Stores Two Ghosts Vinyl Cafe, 104 Avenue A, is a queer-owned, recovery-informed space where music and community come together. Part record store, part cozy hi-fi café inspired by the tradition of listening bars. Breakdown Records, 59 Avenue A, is a local record store that moved to Western Mass in June 2019. We buy, sell, and trade CDs, records, DVDs, tapes, video games, equipment, and more! Music Connection, 187 Avenue A, is an independent record store with a massive selection of NEW and PREVIOUSLY-LOVED Vinyl Records, CDs, Cassettes, Movies, vinyl players, and stereo equipment. Dan Becker is a contemporary solo pianist and composer from Western Massachusetts whose music explores the full spectrum of human emotion. Mostly self-taught, he creates deeply personal instrumental works that chronicle his lifelong journey with bipolar disorder, transforming experiences of solitude, hope, struggle, passion, and resilience into expressive piano compositions that invite listeners to reflect on their own lives. The Turners Falls Vinyl Crawl is part of First Friday, an event that brings the downtown community together and highlights the best of Turners Falls. Shops are open late, with live music, restaurant specials, and more! Events occur from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. Supported by RiverCulture and the Mass Cultural Council.
