Indigenous History Walk with Adventure East

Mt Toby, a 1,300-foot peak within the Metacomet Ridge, is considered one of the most biodiverse areas in New England. It is also one of the few forests in Massachusetts never clear cut during the 18th and 19th centuries. The forests of Mt Toby are the perfect setting to explore the indigenous history of the region. Guided by a local Indigenous expert, we’ll explore the history of Native peoples, old growth forests and waterfalls while sharing community and respect for nature. This program is open to people ages 10+. To register and for a list of what to bring visit: www.sunderlandpubliclibrary.org and scroll down to Program Registration; or call 413-665-2642.
