Spring Bird Walk

Join us as we take an easy walk to search for the many species of birds whose migration has flooded our woods, fields and ponds during the month of May. More than 300 species of birds have been recorded in Massachusetts over the last century. On any given day we may encounter as many as 50 or 60 of them. Along the way we can discuss the habitats in which we can expect to see some of them as well as their songs, calls and nesting habits. David Brown is a local naturalist who began as a birder at the age of twelve. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars. This is a free program in coordination with the Northfield Bird Club. No registration is needed.
